David P. Ofenloch joins the firm as a Partner

We are pleased to announce that David P. Ofenloch, whose practice concentrates on ERISA matters, has joined the firm as a Partner. Working together with Richard Muser and Eva Rasmussen, David broadens and deepens the firm’s ERISA-related services to our clients.

David practiced in the Labor and Employment and Employee Benefits Practice Groups of Morgan, Lewis and Bockius, LLP and was a resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. David’s practice before then with labor-side law firms gives him a valuable perspective and breadth of experience when counseling management clients.

David has over ten years of experience advising clients in the operation and design of qualified and non‑qualified employee benefit plans and health and welfare plans. He has counselled employers, boards of trustees, plan administrators, and plan sponsors on the design and operation of plans to comply with the requirements of applicable law, including the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA and the ACA. He also counsels multiemployer plans and contributing employers on complex multiemployer plan issues. This includes representing companies in withdrawal liability matters under the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act. David has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, and numerous state and federal courts.

In addition to David’s focus on ERISA and employee benefit plans, he advises clients on labor and ERISA implications in mergers and acquisitions. David’s practice includes daily advice and counsel on labor and employment matters, arbitrations and other proceedings, as well as contract and other negotiations.

David has written and spoken on the areas of his practice and is an active member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
