Our Attorneys

Clifton Budd & DeMaria's greatest strength is the depth and experience of its attorneys, all of whom exclusively represent management in all aspects of labor and employment law. Many of our attorneys have prior government experience, including a number of former attorneys from the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Labor. A former President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association heads the firm's immigration practice. Clifton Budd & DeMaria is truly a full service labor and employment law firm offering a wealth of experience in all aspects of the field. In traditional labor law, our attorneys are well versed in contract administration, grievance/arbitration, collective bargaining, union elections, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and the federal courts. In employment discrimination, our attorneys routinely counsel clients under federal, state and local law, appear before the EEOC and state and local discrimination agencies, and litigate such cases in federal and state courts. Beyond labor law and employment discrimination, the depth and breadth of our attorneys' experience is displayed by their familiarity with myriad other employment-related issues such as developing affirmative action plans, representing clients before federal and state Departments of Labor in wage and hour cases, payroll audits, and plant closing issues, enforcing employment and non-competition agreements, advising on personnel policies and screening procedures, and counseling employers on all federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the workplace. We also have a number of lawyers who concentrate their work in occupational safety and health, pension and welfare plan administration, public sector law, and immigration law.

The firm has a substantial employment litigation practice. Many of our attorneys have years of experience representing clients in federal and state courts with a substantial number of jury trial victories.

Finally, while the firm aggressively defends its clients, we firmly believe that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." To that end, our attorneys work closely with clients to prevent claims from arising by providing counseling, drafting employment agreements and personnel handbooks, doing due diligence in business acquisitions, analyzing reductions in force, providing supervisor and employee training, and conducting seminars.
