Scott M. Wich is a Partner with Clifton Budd & DeMaria, LLP,
where he provides clients with a full spectrum of labor and
employment law representation. Mr. Wich utilizes his background
in business and human resources management to offer clients
comprehensive solutions to legal problems. For clients ranging
from small local companies to international businesses, Mr.
Wich regularly advises on day-to-day legal issues, employment
policies, handbooks and management training seminars. He provides
each client with prompt advice in an efficient, individualized
manner as a proactive, preventative measure against employee
issues. When a claim is made, he offers aggressive, dedicated
and vigorous representation.
In his practice, Mr. Wich has successfully represented clients before the National Labor Relations Board in a variety of petitions as well as unfair labor practice proceedings. He routinely advises clients in matters of labor arbitration, union organizing and contract negotiation. In federal and state court litigation, Mr. Wich has assisted clients through a myriad of employment related matters, including unlawful discrimination and harassment, leave law, breach of contract, defamation and wage and hour claims. He has also defended clients in investigations and actions before several government agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor and their state and local counterparts. Mr. Wich is also an experienced appellate practitioner in both labor and employment matters.
Mr. Wich graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo where he received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, and Master of Business Administration degree, with distinction, in the field of human resources management. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Wich is admitted to the bars of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Massachusetts. He is also admitted to several federal appellate and district courts.
Mr. Wich is a member of the American Bar Association, Labor
and Employment Law Section, the Connecticut Bar Association
and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association. He is also a Professional
Member of the Society for Human Resources Management and regularly
contributes articles to its news publication. Furthermore, Mr.
Wich participates in pro bono work for organizations including
the Pro Bono Partnership and has been recognized by the Connecticut
Bar Association's Honor Roll for his contributions. He is also
a member of the Board of Directors of ARI of Connecticut, a
major not-for-profit organization serving individuals with disabilities
and their families.
