Robert
A. Wiesen is a Partner with Clifton Budd & DeMaria, LLP
and has many years of experience in all areas of labor and employment
law. Mr. Wiesen represents a wide array of employers throughout
North America ranging from small family-owned businesses to
large multi-national companies. His clients include many health
care institutions, charitable enterprises and other nonprofit
organizations.
Mr.
Wiesen's common practice areas include advising clients on effective
strategies for achieving business objectives without litigation
and liability, labor negotiations, collective bargaining agreement
administration, arbitration, employment discrimination cases,
wrongful termination cases and practice before the National
Labor Relations Board in representation and unfair labor practice
cases. He has successfully served as chief spokesperson in hundreds
of labor negotiations, and he has handled hundreds of labor
arbitrations.
Prior
to joining Clifton Budd & DeMaria, LLP, Mr. Wiesen served
as an attorney and trial specialist with the National Labor
Relations Board. Mr. Wiesen earned his Juris Doctor degree cum
laude from Brooklyn Law School, and he received a Bachelor of
Arts degree magna cum laude from the State University of New
York at Buffalo.
Mr.
Wiesen is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme
Court, as well as various Federal District Courts and Circuit
Courts of Appeal, and he is a member of the American Bar Association
and its Section of Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Wiesen has
served as Chairman of the Civil Rights Commission and Employee
Relations Advisory Committee of Summit, New Jersey, and he is
a past President, Vice-President and Advisory Board Member of
the New York Industrial Relations Research Association. Mr.
Wiesen also is a Contributing Editor to The Developing
Labor Law, the preeminent labor law treatise published
by the Bureau of National Affairs and the American Bar Association.
Mr.
Wiesen has received many honors and awards including Phi Beta
Kappa membership, the American Jurisprudence Award for Labor
Law, two National Labor Relations Board Awards for Superior
Performance, inclusion in Whos Who in American Law,
inclusion in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent
Lawyers, and the highest AV rating from the
Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, reflecting the highest
level of professional excellence.
