Howard G. Estock is a Partner at Clifton Budd & DeMaria,
LLP who has developed special experience in labor negotiations
and executive employment matters. Mr. Estock has handled negotiations
with all major unions both as chief spokesman and advisor to
management teams in addition to rendering day-to-day advice
on union relation matters. He has extensive experience with
employment litigation in federal and state courts as well as
proceedings before the NLRB, the EEOC, OSHA and other administration
agencies. Mr. Estock has handled numerous cases in labor arbitration
and the negotiation of executive employment and compensation
arrangements. He represents numerous clients in the health care
and in the hospitality fields.
In court, Mr. Estock has successfully defended hundreds of civil
rights and employment related claims. He guided an acute-care
hospital through negotiations and litigation in the largest
nurses' strike in New York state history; he has negotiated
a number of agreements with unions allowing employers to avoid
bankruptcy and to successfully emerge from Chapter 11 proceedings.
In Administrative tribunals, Mr. Estock has settled numerous
OSHA citations and has developed a reputation of reducing fines
and avoiding findings of "Willful" or "Repeat"
violations of Occupational Safety laws.
Mr. Estock holds a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Pittsburgh
School Of Law, a Masters degree from Gannon College in Labor
Economics, and Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from Pennsylvania
State University. He has conducted a number of seminars on a
wide variety of employment issues including litigation avoidance,
grievance handling, investigating civil rights claims, improving
labor relations, improving job safety and preventing violence
in the workplace.
Mr. Estock is admitted to the bars of New York, the United States
Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals in the First,
Second and Third Circuits, and numerous federal district courts.
He is listed in Who's Who in American Law and is rated "AV®
Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings.
Mr. Estock is an active member of the Committees on Occupational
Safety and Health, Labor Arbitration and Litigation Sections
of the American Bar Association.
