Brian J. Clark is a partner with Clifton Budd & DeMaria, LLP, practicing general labor and employment law on behalf of management. Mr. Clark frequently represents private and public sector clients in state and federal courts in a variety of labor, employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, benefits and other employment-related suits. He has litigated a significant number of cases through trial. Mr. Clark has a strong background in administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, EEOC, US Department of Labor, and various state and local agencies. He also represents a number of public sector clients in New York and has extensive experience with the NYS PERB and Civil Service Commission. Well versed in the field of collective bargaining, Mr. Clark serves as chief labor negotiator for a number of clients and has participated in numerous arbitrations. Finally, he spends much time counseling clients on the prevention and resolution of workplace disputes, their compliance with the variety of laws governing the workplace, and the labor and employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Clark serviced in the Office of the Solicitor of Labor, US Department of Labor, in Washington, D.C. Mr. Clark received his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law where he co-founded the Joseph R. Crawley Labor and employment Law Guild. His undergraduate education took place at Aberdeen University, Scotland and Manhattan College.
Mr. Clark is a member of the American, New York State and New York City Bar Associations in the Labor and Employment Law and Litigation sections. Outside of the firm, Mr. Clark serves as a Board Member for the CJ Foundation for SIDS; a Trustee for Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx, New York; and as General Counsel and Secretary for Sammon-BUILD Center HDFC, a transitional housing shelter in the Bronx. He also is co-founder and President of the Pelham Community Rowing Association, a nonprofit organization which operates a boathouse in Glen Island Park, Westchester County and provides competitive and recreational rowing for the public. He is a member in the Societies of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in the City of New York and County of Westchester, and the New York Athletic Club.
