RICHARD
K. MUSER joined Clifton Budd & DeMaria in 1979, and has been
a partner of the firm since 1988. His experience and practice
extend to all areas of labor and employment law and employee
benefits law.
Mr.
Muser counsels clients in challenging withdrawal liability
assessments under the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments
Act and in structuring transactions to avoid or minimize withdrawal
liability. He has represented employers in state and federal
courts in defense of a wide range of employment-related claims,
including wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, and
litigation in connection with the enforcement of restrictive
covenants. He also advises employer sponsors of pension and
welfare plans in the operation of their plans, deals with
the IRS and the Department of Labor in the operation and qualification
of plans under ERISA, and represents employers in administrative
proceedings involving the IRS, the Pension Benefit Guaranty
Corporation, and the Department of Labor. Mr. Muser also presents
training seminars on employment discrimination and maintaining
union free status and has represented numerous employers in
proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. He
also represents and counsels employers in arbitrations and
collective bargaining negotiations.
