Richard K. Muser

Mr. Muser's practice is focused in the area of employment benefits law and deferred compensation, as well as traditional labor law. He has advised numerous employers in the operation and design of pension and deferred compensation plans. He has advised employers and benefit plan administrators on the design and operation of plans to comply with the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. He has advised Plan trustees on how to comply with their fiduciary obligations under ERISA, and has represented employers and plan administrators before the Internal Revenue Service, the United States Department of Labor, and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. He has also negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements and has advised employers on union representation elections and has frequently represented employers before the National Labor Relations Board. He has also represented a number of employers in challenging withdrawal liability assessments under the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act.
